CHICAGO – In a matchup that seemed destined to be a showdown of super slammers Aaron Gordon and Andrew Wiggins, Florida signee Chris “Sky” Walker –  a elite high riser in his own right – ended up the victor of the McDonald’s All American game’s Powerade Jam Fest on Monday night.
Walker scored 226 points on four dunks, averaging 56.5 points each attempts, to defeat Gordon (213), Duke commitment Jabari Parker (211), Wiggins (199) and Arizona-bound Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (199).
Walker and Wiggins each had a perfect 60-point dunk. Wiggins’ twisting dunk in which he sent the ball through his legs before finishing was the slam of the night, bringing the crowd to its feet and his fellow All-Americans out on the court to congratulate him.
Wiggins and Gordon, who will announce his college decision at 12:35 EDT on Tuesday, each have the University of Kentucky on their respective lists of four finalists.
Gordon of San Jose, Calif., is down to UK, Arizona, Washington and Oregon, and the Pacific-12 schools are thought to be more likely destinations.
Wiggins, who has not set a date for a decision, is considering UK, Kansas, North Carolina and Florida State.
Washington signee Nigel Williams-Goss won the boys’ three-point shootout. Notre Dame recruit Demetrius Jackson of Mishawaka, Ind., Marian College won the skills competition.
Jessica Washington (North Carolina) won the girls’ skills, and Kaela Davis (Georgia Tech) was the girls’ 3-point shootout.
Duke signee Becca Greenwell of Owensboro Catholic High School was the girls’ 3-point runner-up with 15 points – two behind Davis. Greenwell was 5 of 5 from the top of the key in the finals.
UK signee Makayla Epps, Kentucky’s Miss Basketball from Marion County High School, was eliminated in the preliminaries of the 3-point contest.UK signee Linnae Harper, a Chicago native, was the runner-up of the girls’ skills contest.

None of the six UK-bound boys’ McDonald’s All Americans participated in any of the competitions.
